SpeciÞcations: Automatic Melt-out Heat and Smoke Vents shall be FM approved single glazed Model 417-MB (Model 418-MB double glazed) as manufactured by Plasteco, Inc., Houston, Texas. (800-231-6117, Fax 713-453-8372). Meet FM test requirement that the unit will automatically operate within 5 minutes at maximum temperature of 500 degrees F.

Units shall have a 12 inch double wall 1Ó thick insulated aluminum curb. The curb ßange on the upside shall have a minimum width of 8 inches with water diverter and cell caps to Þt under the roof panel and standing seam roof proÞle. The curb ßange on the low side and cell cap is designed to Þt over the roof panel and standing seam.

Glazing shall be white translucent acrylic designed to withstand a 40 psf snow load. (Model 418-MB double glazed unit add the words Òinner pyramid shall be of a clear acrylicÓ).

Fall protection as required by OSHA ¤ 1926.501 ÒDuty to have Fall ProtectionÓ  shall be provided by FALL-GUARDª Skylight Screens. FALLGUARDª Skylight Screens shall be shipped separately and installed prior to the installation of the melt-out heat and smoke vent.

Add Alternate Ð Hail Stone Screens shall be 1Ó x 1Ó x .063Ó galvanized welded wire mesh overlaid onto the FALLGUARDª Skylight Screens. Screens shall have been tested to resist without permanent deformation, the impact energy of a 2" diameter hail stone (22ft lbs) as required by FM.
